Resilience and readiness in Action – Advancing clinical excellence and nurse-sensitive patient outcomes in mental health nursing
Nurse-sensitive patient outcomes link patient outcomes directly to mental health nursing care and interventions. While these measurable outcomes hold potential to advance clinical excellence, their collection and application are not without challenges in a metric-driven society. This keynote will illuminate both the potential and the pitfalls of using nurse-sensitive patient outcomes as validators of clinical excellence. Particular attention will be given to their role in validating psychotherapeutic capability, strengthening authority as change-agents, and enhancing the status of the discipline, while also critically reflecting on the limitations and unintended consequences of translating relational, complex care into measurable outcomes.
